Grandparents and Special Friends Day
On Friday, February 5th is Grandparents and Special Friend's Day and our second graders will perform in the morning for our guests. The students will be required to wear a black, red, or yellow shirt/t-shirt for this performance with their Shorecrest uniform bottoms. Students will get changed back into their regular school uniform after the performance.
Shorecrest Gets a Charge out of Reading Week
Here are some of the fun activities that will be going on:
Monday, February 1st: Author Michael O'Neill will be visiting and speaking to the kids.
Tuesday, February 2nd: Book Character Dress Up Day
The students may come to Town Meeting that morning dressed up as their favorite book character. Please understand that this is not like dressing up for Halloween. Please do not send your child as Harry Potter, Darth Vador, or Spongebob. We really would like to see the students be creative with their characters. We are also encouraging the students to bring in the book that their character represents. The students will get changed back into their school uniform after the parade.
Wednesday, February 3rd: DEAR - The entire Lower Division will be dropping everything and reading for 30 minutes.
Thursday, February 4th: Afternoon Reading Festival
The reading festival will begin right after school for those who have signed up. Your child will receive a white brochure next week. Please keep this handy and bring it with you on Thursday. It will have all of the information you will need to know which sessions your child will be going to and when.

Spring Conference Times
Wow! What a response regarding Spring Conference times. If you haven't nominated a choice regarding what time you'd like to meet with me on Feb. 24, please keep in mind that no times are left between 7:55-9:50. I have plenty of spots available for later on in the day, if this works. Keep in mind that because many parents nominated the same times to meet, you may not be given your first or second choice. I ask that you be flexible and I will try my hardest to accommodate your preference. Thanks.
